Aquascape Restoration – Robbins Park, Tauranga Waterfront
Client: Tauranga City Council
Location: Northern end of The Strand, Robbins Park, Tauranga
Tauranga City Council engaged us to address two key issues at Robbins Park:
The central fountain was leaking.
The irrigation system servicing the surrounding rose garden required upgrading.
Our brief was straightforward. Stop the leaks, restore the fountain’s integrity, and design a reliable irrigation system to support the long-term health of the rose beds.
Fountain Cleaning and Resealing
The fountain basin had developed leaks due to deterioration of the existing seal. We carried out the following works:
Fully drained and cleaned the fountain
Removed debris and surface contaminants
Prepared the substrate
Applied a new waterproof sealing system
The resealing work has restored the structural integrity of the basin and eliminated water loss. The new finish provides a durable, low-maintenance surface suited to ongoing public use and exposure to the elements.
New Irrigation System for the Rose Garden
The existing irrigation system was outdated and no longer delivering consistent coverage across the rose beds. We designed and installed a new system to:
Deliver even and efficient water distribution
Reduce water wastage
Improve reliability
Support healthy plant growth
The system was tailored specifically to the layout of the rose garden and the site conditions at Robbins Park. It is designed for durability and ease of maintenance moving forward.
Project Outcome
The completed works include:
✔ Resealed, watertight fountain basin
✔ Improved durability and reduced water loss
✔ New irrigation system servicing the rose garden
✔ Greater water efficiency and plant health support
